Every now and then I have to do a little housekeeping on my blog, LOL! With that said, I figured I should address some concerns many parents have over new safety standards that have been issued by the government in terms of baby product safety.
I won't bore you with the specifics, but, I can tell you this. New laws have been enforced by the U.S. government that specifically address the safety of products geared towards babies and big kids. Such new policies affect products like bedding, furniture, etc. These new guidelines were implemented as a result of lead based paint that had been used in children's products that were designed overseas, then imported into the United States, and finally, purchased by the American consumer. Eventually, once such products found their way into consumers' homes, children were exposed to the lead based paint used these goods and, some became ill.
As such, on Feburary 10, 2009, a new law will take effect (this law is commonly known as CPSIA). The purpose of this law is to ensure product safety for all children's goods purchased in the United States. This means all products, made in the USA or not, must be tested and pass the government requirements in order to be sold to American consumers.

The information we've requested includes verification that a product has passed all necessary testing, and, for those products which are exempt, we are also requesting documentation to note why the product does not require testing to ensure your child's safety.
